KLM Family,

We truly hope you had a great summer and an amazing kickoff to the school year.  Well, it's getting close to that time again. NO, not the holiday's!  We talking about the KLM 2025 basketball season! 

We are thankful for the role our KLM community had in making the 2024 season a success and contributing to assuring our youth knows their value, and that they all are Rising Stars on and off the basketball court. But here comes a new season! Check back periodically for updates and additional information as we gear up for the 2025 season.  Stay safe family.

***NEW IN 2025***

This season we will have multiple opportunities for students to earn community service hours. See below:

1. On Saturday's and Sunday's students can assist with the skills and drills sessions for the Rising Stars Pee Wee. 

2. Students may also assist with concluding our Rising Stars Pee Wee sessions with a "Cool Down" by reading a short story to our 3 to 4 years olds.

As we aim to show the importance of reading, this also provides an opportunity and a teaching point for older kids to give back to their community and kids younger than them. 

Registration Fee:

• Rising Stars Pee Wee (Ages 3 & 4)- $105
• Rising Stars 3v3 (Ages 5 & 6)  - $145
• Rising Stars Juniors and Seniors (Ages 7 - 12)  - $145

Rising Stars Intramural Basketball Program

The Kettering-Largo-Mitchellville Boys and Girls Club Intramural Basketball program consist of boys and girls ages 3 to 12 years old. The program teaches the basic fundamentals of the sport. We offer the following:

RISING STARS Pee Wee

We know the youth are our future and through KLM Pee Wee, we're driven to provide a positive and fun learning experience for your child. We will focus on developing kids 3 and 4 years of age in the areas of court awareness (becoming familiar with areas on the basketball court, such as sideline, free throw line, half court, etc.) discipline, hard work, and character while accomplishing the most important aspect of basketball, having fun!

How will you develop my athlete? 

At this level it’s understood that repetition is key, so we’ve built a fun and creative 8-week developmental program. The players will meet twice a week (Saturday and Sunday) and during those sessions your child will learn the basics of dribbling, shooting, sharing (teamwork) and footwork.

RISING STARS 3v3 League

• Ages 5 & 6  
• Total number of players per team will depend on registrations

• Playoffs and Championship

RISING STARS Upper League

Rising Stars Juniors (ages 7 to 9) 

Rising Stars Seniors (ages 10 to 12)

The teams will consist of both boys and girls. The program will run from February 2025 to March 2025. The majority of the games will be played on Saturdays throughout the day and on Sundays after 1:00pm. If your interested in helping coach and motivate the next generation of stars to be great on and off the court, please send an email to intramuralbasketball@klmbgc.com .

The Rules of Play & Conduct are posted below. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with them.

Targeted Age Group 

• Pee Wee- ages 3 and 4 years old
• 3v3 – ages 5 and 6 years old
• Juniors – ages 7 to 9 years old
• Seniors – ages 10 to 12 years old

Practice

One day per week (Time and Location TBD)

Game Schedules

All teams will play games on Saturday and Sunday. Exact time and dates will be provided to the head coach and we will also post game schedules on our website.  
 

Pee Wee 
Ages 3 & 4 year olds - Saturdays at 9:00am and Sundays at 1:00pm
Note: Start date TBD. 

The season opener for 3v3, Juniors and Seniors is TBD.
